Spring Concert Reminder

Thursday May 14^th, 2015

7 p.m. concert

6:30 p.m. call time

Please wear concert dress; EJHS Music Polo, black bottoms and shoes.

Students are expected to stay for the entire concert, it should not last more than 45 minutes.  As a reminder this is a graded event.

8^th Grade Recognition will also be held at this concert – I can’t believe our 8^th graders are moving to the high school already!!!

We would like to see all students performing dress up (avoiding tennis shoes and jeans.)  We have discussed in class skirt lengths and no skirts for female cellists, please ask your child about our classroom discussion. 

The Concert & Reception will occur in the cafeteria at Evans; students should go to the orchestra room (5^th Grade) or band room (6^th Grade) upon arrival for tuning/warm-up.

We encourage students to stay for the ENTIRE concert as it will not exceed 30 minutes and it is good for them to see the older students perform. IESA Organizational Contest

Friday May 1^st, 2015

EJHS 7^th & 8^th Grade Orchestra

Location:  Parkside Jr. High School

101 N. Parkside Rd.

Normal, IL. 61761

          *Park on the North side of the building, enter through main door, performances are in the gym.

          *Please note, this IS a Friday Night.  If you participate in choir the ensembles will perform on Saturday.  Also since it is the weekend/evening you will need to find your own transportation to PJHS.

                   7^th & 8^th Grade:            5:50 p.m. (tuning) – Rm. 88

                                                            6:15 p.m. (warm-up)

                                                             6:45 p.m. (performance)

          (Once our performance is complete you are free to leave the building, I will give the results in class on Monday.)

Homeroom:       Room 88 (we will leave cases/coats here, it is not secure so don’t leave anything of value!)

Performance Area: PJHS Gym (There is an admission fee for spectators, $2 adults/high school students, $1 senior citizens/K-8 students, younger children free.)

Dress Code: Concert Dress, EJHS Music Polo, black bottoms, dark socks, dress shoes.  Questions contact Mrs. Boyd.
